Lancashire

Formerly much more widespread, the tiger beetle Cicindela hybrida [RDB2] (Carabidae) is now confined in the British Isles to a few areas of sand dunes in Lancashire (including modern Cumberland), where it should be sought from April to August.

The pselaphid Plectophloeus erichsoni [RDB I] (Pselaphidae) was recorded as new to Britain from specimens found at Botany Bay Wood in 1981. The species has not yet been refound anywhere in the British Isles.
