Nottinghamshire

Sherwood Forest is an area of extensive ancient woodland that has a similar rare beetle fauna to Windsor Great Park and Forest (Berkshire). Notable dead-wood associated species include: Teredus cylindrus [RDB1] (Colydiidae) under bark with anobiid and scolytid bark-boring beetles, last recorded here in 1964; and Cryptocephalus querceti [RDB2] (Chrysomelidae) on ancient oaks Quercus in the summer.
